TheBlogcast Episode 23 – Music equality in the podcast

On this episode of TheBlogcast, we have no theme.  But what we do have, is a great collection of music and a BRAND NEW segment which we’ve come to call “Your music is so much better than mine,” or YMMBTM?

TheBlogcast Episode 22 – Music is changing again.

Sure it took an extra couple of weeks to get this episode out the door, but it’s a good one.  Between some excellent music choices, this episodes talks a little bit about music, some up and coming changes with iTMS, and some other of my creative endeavours.

Resurrection is iminent.. or close to iminent.. -ish.

I’ve alluded to it a few days ago via Facebook.  I had been thinking about it for a while and how much I missed doing it.  Thus I made the decision and a rash purchase of a new microphone (that I’m still waiting for.. Chinese New Year shipping delays) in order to bring back TheBlogcast™!  While I’ve been waiting I’ve put as many of the pieces in place as I could.  New logos, RSS feeds, iTunes and Google Play availability, website integration, Facebook page, AND re-uploading the 20 episode backlog that stretches between April 2009 and May 2010.  It’s all available.  I’ll start promoting the hell out of it soon– and by “the hell out of it,” I mean that I’ll share new episodes on the social medias.

One thing I found, after listening to all the shows, is how much I have changed over the past nine years.  Things I would say on the show I’d abhor even thinking about now.  But I’ve posted these episodes anyway because it is a good demonstration of how people can change.  In a way, it’s kind of refreshing when you realize that you haven’t become stagnant.

So, as the graphic suggests.  TheBlogcast™ will be back soon (I’m hoping within a week or so).  I hope you’re as excited as I am.

TheBlogcast – Episode 20 (repost) – May 11, 2010

In the final episode, over a year after I started the show, I quickly learn that I should never use autotune.  I continue to bemoan the lack of good new music for the year and reflect on how short the shows have become.

TheBlogcast – Episode 19 (repost) – March 12, 2010

In the second last regular(?) episode of TheBlogcast I find myself cursing the name of Carl Rove and his media attention.. which strangely sounds like the media attention that Trump drove before and after the election.  I also moan about the state of the union of new music for early 2010 which apparently wasn’t very good.

TheBlogcast – Episode 18 (repost) – January 29, 2010

Okay– so I skipped Episode 17.  It was a Christmas episode and now, quite frankly, is not the time for Christmas.  Most people I know are still trying to escape the clutches of winter, and are not interested in diving headfirst into the season again.  This episode collected tracks from what used to be an annual mix-CD exchange.

TheBlogcast – Episode 16 (repost) – November 20, 2009

I was a little political in the sixteenth episode of TheBlogcast.  I petition the show’s listener to fight back against ACTA, which ultimately failed.  It keeps rearing its head under different alias’ though.  Most recently, pieces of it were embedded into the TPP.  Keep fighting for your privacy, folks.

TheBlogcast – Episode 15 (repost) – October 30, 2009

There was a live release by Matthew Good a few years back where he comments how part of being an artist is the permanent record of one’s own idiocy.  He was commenting on one of his own tracks and some of its lyrics and how moronic they were.  I listened to the opening of this episode and I truly felt embarrassed.  I am not the same guy now that I was back in 2009.  I actually considered not re-posting this episode, but I felt that it was important that I did.  To me, it demonstrates that people can and do change.  I do apologize for the cold opening of this episode.  Take comfort in knowing I’m not the same man.

TheBlogcast – Episode 14 (repost) – October 16, 2009

The thirteenth episode was paying homage to what inspired me to do my own podcast to begin with– Rough Sundays which was produced by Aric S. Queen.  Rough Sundays was a show dedicated to those waking up after a good Saturday night.  Strangely enough, the resurfacing of his podcast in recent weeks is also partially responsible for me bringing my own show back.  Bandwagoning?  Perhaps.  Do I care?  Not really.
